About Us

It is a QuARTet of young ambitious musicians trained in the elite and legendary Russian School while not being restricted by its conservative tastes.
It is an ensemble whose youth, experience, professionalism and desire to realize their vast potential all converge in the sum of its artistic endeavors and whose results have already proven their worth in numerous competitions.

The QuARTru instrumentation is unique (accordion, piano, cello and clarinet) and each player carries with him a distinct history, sensitivity to sound and personal understanding of the repertoire and the esthetics which inform it.
At the same time, they are capable of the utmost refinement of their combined sound and ability to match tone quality and nuance. Together these qualities form an approach to the XXI century – a century of mixed cultures, styles, directions, search for new sound designs and sound discoveries.

QuARTru IS AN ENSEMBLE OF FOUR INDEPENDENTLY MINDED SOLOISTS whose tasks include the meticulous working out of details and technical challenges presented to them with the goal of an uncompromised and compelling rendering which is intriguing for all four.
The repertoire includes original compositions written for QuARTru and transcriptions in untraditional, yet authoritative, settings. As regards traditional scores, the quartet works with the utmost faithfulness and endeavors to preserve the composition while – invariably, something transforms on the outside and enriches the music in the direction of the contemporary sphere. With full confidence it can be said that what one will hear in performance is not heard anywhere else. It is, at once, unexpected, fresh and unaffected. QuARTru’s MOTTO COULD BE WRITTEN, “SUPERIOR, TRADITIONAL QUALITY IN SUPERIOR, NON-TRADITIONAL PERFOFMANCE”.

On the whole, QuARTru values its existence as a freely chosen and unpressured collective striving only to do that which is interesting for the quartet at a given moment in time and to avoid suffering the fate of habitual and compulsory work. It may be for this reason that the public reacts so enthusiastically to the vitality presented on stage and why QuARTru never fails to elicit such a powerful response.

Through recordings and concerts it is obvious that there is a great interest among professionals and the refined musical public, and yet accordingly with the principles of its members. QuARTru aims to reach the greatest possible number of listeners in a manner direct, generous and universal. AND SO A SECOND MOTTO MAY BE ADDED TO THE FORMER – “THERE ARE NO INFERIOR AUDIENCES – WE SIMPLY FIND THE KEY TO EACH ONE”.
